A NOTE ON DANCE THERAPY
Keywords:
.Abstract
In the act of dancing, patients can transcend communication barriers of certain kinds. Psychotics are very unsure about their body and the identity of their body parts. Without elaborate steps, by using simple rhythms, and frequently, by beginning body dance movements as individuals, patients can begin to share rhythms with others. This helps create a context for group participation. As a result, the satisfaction becomes a shared experience, a recognition of commonality of response with another.
