An Introduction to Chaos Theory for Psychodramatists
Keywords:
chaos theoryAbstract
Individuals and groups are dynamic systems that generate patterns of behavior, thoughts, feelings, and interactions. Chaos Theory (ChT), based on a mathematical approach to nonlinear, nonindependent modeling, addresses these patterns. ChT has important insights to offer psychodramatists, both conceptually and practically. Psychodramatists need a basic, working knowledge of ChT and its impact and implications. In this article, the author presents a mathematical and conceptual overview of ChT and briefly relates it to the basic subsystems of Morenean thought. These insights are bases for future practice, theory, research, and training implications to be explored in other manuscripts.
