BRIEF REPORT: Poetry in Psychodrama
Keywords:
PsychodramaAbstract
Inherent in psychodrama is the evocation of images designed to lead the client to a new level of self-understanding and positive change. Directors use many avenues to warm up their group to begin the psychodramatic action. Occasionally, the action may lead to an expression that is the culmination of an individual's work as well as the stepping off place for new work. My own experience in an intensive psychodrama-training workshop culminated in an explosion of poetic expression, hitherto unknown to me, in which I dealt with an awareness of Jong-dormant feelings and emotions. The two poems presented here are the result of psychodramatic
work and may be of use to the reader as warmups for future group work.
