A Group-Work Approach for Sexually Abused Preschoolers
Keywords:
PreschoolersAbstract
This article concerns the process of a particular group treatment approach for preschool-aged children who have been sexually abused. In the course of the group, the children are exposed to a combination of three components: education, experience, and free play. These three aspects help integrate the particular messages provided by the C.A.R.E. kit. Themes from the kit center on identification and discussion of issues related to sexual abuse, as well as prevention. This article focuses on one such group.
