THEATERAbstract
It is well known that the late J.L. Moreno, the pioneer of psychodrama, involved himself in the theater early in his career. Following experiences of storytelling with children, he organized a children's theater while still a medical student in Vienna. This experiment developed into a theater for adults. Moreno's actors performed impromptu pieces, including the "Living Newspaper," improvisational
dramatizations of current news events. Moreno has given some account of his theater career in Theater of Spontaneity, first written in 1923.
